Peach & Lily’s Glass Skin Regimen [update]

For the past 7 weeks I’ve been using the Glass Skin Routine Kit from Peach & Lily. As I spoke about in an earlier post, it is a Korean skin care line founded by esthetician, Alicia Yoon.

Here’s an update on my skin…

Day 1:

Currently:

Two new friends (pimples) left behind scarring on my cheeks near the jawline. The right side of my face, my cheeks, experiences breakouts more than the left.
A couple pimples left behind some scarring near my jawline.
I didn’t see even the slightest fading of my scars.

I ‘ve had a few stubborn break outs. I don’t know if it’s because of the heat, my hormones, or what I’ve eaten… but they were mainly appearing on my cheeks near my jawline. While these products are gentle on skin, I do believe I’ll need something “stronger” to combat these stubborn pimples and the scarring they tend to leave behind.

I had a tender and red pimple on my left cheek a few nights ago. I applied the Peach & Lily products as instructed. The next morning I woke up and the pimple was still there–still tender, still swollen. It wasn’t until I applied witch hazel the following night that the swelling greatly reduced.

I also have extremely stubborn sebaceous filaments on my nose. (Definitely not inserting a picture because I hate how they look.) However, I will say that immediately after applying these products the appearance of them dimmed down. But the next day they’d be bold and waving hello to me. (Tips on how to get rid of those would be greatly appreciated…)

Products from the line that I’ll discontinue:

Wild Dew Treatment Essence

This product is said to hydrate the skin, but I found that the pure beam luxe oil and matcha pudding moisturizer did the job well on their own. I’ll go back to using witch hazel, which is a fraction of the price and agrees well with my skin.

Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser

While my face felt clean after using this, when I went to apply the Wild Dew Essence Treatment using a cotton pad, I found that my face wasn’t really well cleansed. The cotton pad was brown after wiping down my face–eek!

Products from the line that I really liked:

Glass Skin Refining Serum

Glass Skin Refining Serum. The “3” indicates that it is the third step in the skin care kit.

I enjoy how smooth this feels when I rub it into my skin. It also gives my skin a dewy and refreshed look. I will continue using this for a couple months to see if I notice any dramatic differences, specifically in regards to my scarring. It’s Peach & Lily’s best-selling product and people have had great results using it; I hope after a couple more months I will have the same testimony.

Pure Beam Luxe Oil

I love when my face has some shine to it! This product isn’t greasy at all and is very lightweight.

Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream

I really like this moisturizer. It’s lightweight and makes my skin feel very cool.

And there you have it! I should mention that this specific kit is gentle on the skin and didn’t cause any breakouts. However, I will have to find a regime that tackles my scarring and sebaceous filaments.

If you all know of any products that are great for scarring, please let me know in the comments section below!

My Favorite Peach (Glute) Growing Exercise

It’s all about the peach, peach, peach! For me, having strong glutes is not only aesthetically pleasing (to myself), but it is also important that the largest muscle in your body can support you. According to Tamara Gland, a certified personal trainer, and writer for Inspiyr, having strong glutes can  improve your posture, help to prevent injury during exercise, and increase overall athletic performance.

For a long time, I believed that squats were necessary in building strong and well rounded glutes. However, with the creation of the hip thrusts in 2006, things changed. Although I didn’t start incorporating hip thrusts until 2017, I will say that they have done a better job at transforming my glutes than squats. Granted, I have done other exercises that targeted my glutes, but they didn’t provide the same results.

Hip Thrusts

This exercise is the king of building glutes. The exercise was created by Bret Contreras, PhD CSCS, the expert in building a strong and shapely posterior. In his study, Bret found that the hip thrusts, when compared to the barbel back squat, led to greater muscle growth and strength in the gluteus maximus. So while in the past we may have thought squats were the best way to build the glutes, the hip thrusts is here to redefine everything.

I incorporate hip thrusts into my routine 3 times a week.  I honestly prefer them over squats because they are a lot easier on my knees and it’s also easier to increase the amount of weight I use.

I really love to feel the burn with this exercise, so I put my Peach Bands right above my knees for extra resistance and maxium burn.

Form

Here’s a great tutorial that shows you how to perfect your form for this exercise.

Muscles Targeted

Gluteus Maximum (upper glute), gluteus medius (lower glutes), the quadriceps, hamstrings, and also the core (used to stabilize yourself)
