In the already grim situation, officials are making it worse.
Somethings are better left unsaid. But, with these controversial remarks were are really seeing how those in power think.
Rape is accidental? Really? These people are honestly making women seem like they are at fault no matter the situation.
But first, let’s make sure the dictionary definition of “accidental” is still the same.
Merriam-Webster says “: happening in a way that is not planned or intended : happening by accident : happening as an accident”.
So let’s see what the definition of rape is. Merriam-Webster has multiple definition, but let’s rule this one out: ” an Old World herb (Brassica napus) of the mustard family grown as a forage crop and for its seeds which yield rapeseedoil and are a bird food”
So maybe you can “accidentally” grow this Old World herb. I mean, perhaps you can toss it in the soil by “accident.” Did the Prime Minister’s party mean that?
But I think this definition is what we’re looking for: “to force (someone) to have sex with you by using violence or the threat of violence.”
Can someone “accidentally” force themselves on another person; did those men “accidentally” force those girls to have sex with them and “accidentally” murder them?
I believe the word Ramsevak Paikra, who made the comment, was looking for was intentional. These men INTENTIONALLY did what they did. And this INTENTIONALLY thing happens daily.
